Glen Rosa Engagement

This is a really special one. When Ruaridh asked me to make an engagement ring for Hania, I was honoured. After discussing some initial ideas I created a few samples and Ruaridh decided on a textured ring band in recycled 18ct white gold with an absolutely gorgeous 0.64ct round diamond. I don’t do a lot of work with stones so Ruaridh placed a huge amount of trust in me and had the patience of a saint while I searched for the perfect ethically sourced diamond. He also became a diamond expert in that time! He decided on this stunning D colour diamond from South Africa.

Now here’s the best bit. Much of my work is inspired by the Isle of Arran, an island off the west coast of Scotland. It’s somewhere that means a great deal to me as I have the most wonderful memories of family holidays there. It’s a really special place. It also happens to have incredible geology, history and landscapes. I hadn’t told Ruaridh that I had started to refer to rings with this particular surface texture as Rosa rings after Glen Rosa, so you can imagine my utter delight when he told me that he was planning to propose on the Isle of Arran at the rock pool in Glen Rosa!

Huge congratulations to Ruaridh and Hania on your engagement.

And thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous photos of the Rosa ring in Glen Rosa!
